About the event
Wolfgang Bellmer , painter and writer, born in 1940. He lives in Berlin and works in his studios in Berlin, Rerik and Eschershausen. His published novels include "The Thirsty Island", "Who Would Buy the Eiffel Tower?", "Greetings from Olga", "Boomerang", "The Pyrmont Plot" and "Frightened Off". Three screenplays have been made into films (ZDF, Soko Leipzig). With the "Elise Trilogy", novels about the life of an upright woman (1913-1948), Bellmer created a literary monument to his hometown of Holzminden/Weser. Bellmer's painting concentrates on large-scale paintings and their abstract, colorful structure. His work also includes colorful sculptures and designs on ceramics and porcelain, with which the artist searches for new creative possibilities.
