Each of Colmar's six Christmas markets is like its own little village, a world of passionate artisans. These islands of conviviality are nestled in squares, each with its own distinct architectural character, and are, like the city itself, welcoming and authentic.
The entire old town of Colmar, miraculously spared the ravages of history, transforms for six weeks into a single Christmas market with its myriad twists and turns. Strolling from one of the 180 exhibitors to the next, the magic of the Christmas atmosphere unfolds. It's about rediscovering that childlike wonder that can't be forced, only experienced.
